Scholarships
•The Edwin G. Schroeder Scholarship is available to graduating seniors who will be attending Lone Star College in the fall. This $1,500 award will cover most of your first year of your tuition, and the deadline to apply is Thursday, May 12th.
•Seniors, the deadline to submit your scholarship information is Wednesday, May 11th. Please report all scholarships that you have been awarded regardless if you plan to accept them or not.

•The Horatio Alger Technical Foundation will award (512) $2,500 scholarships to graduating high school seniors who are planning to study computer science or other related field. The deadline to apply is June 1st.
•The Chevron Corporation Scholarship is available to graduating seniors who plan to major in STEM. The deadline to apply for this $5,000 scholarship is Monday, May 2nd.
•The Get Girls Golfing scholarship is open to female high school seniors who plays golf competitively now, and who will also play their freshman year in college. The award is $1,500 and your application deadline is May 15th.

•The University of Arkansas will be here today during all lunches. Wildcats, this is your opportunity to get first-hand information about the college admissions process, test requirements, and how universities make their decisions about who gets admitted to their school.
•Attention Senior Women. The BHW Group is offering a $3,000 scholarship to graduating senior females who are pursuing a degree in a STEM related field. The deadline to apply is Friday, April 15th.

•The Italian Cultural & Community Center of Houston is offering a $1,000 scholarship to a graduating senior who is of Italian descent. The deadline to apply is April 15th.
•The Herbert Lehman Education Fund scholarship is available to graduating high school seniors. The emphasis is academics, leadership and community service. The deadline to apply for this $8,000 scholarship is April 25th.
•The AZETCA Scholarship Foundation is offering several scholarships to graduating high school seniors who are Chicano, Mexicano or, Raza descent. The deadline to apply is April 26th.

•The National Association of Black Accountants is offering up to $5,000 in scholarships to minority graduating senior who has declared their major in the field of business. The deadline to apply is Friday, April 8th.

Wildthing Tryouts
Attention Juniors! It's that time of the year again and Wildthing tryouts are soon! The informational meeting will be March 29th in room 2209. The actual tryouts will be held on April 15th and 18th. The INFO meeting is Mandatory, so if you are unable to attend, see one of the Self's ASAP.
Class Office information
If you are interested in running for class office, print off a form from the Cy-Woods Student Council folder on the S drive. Forms are due on April 1st in room 2216. Campaigning will begin on April 4th, and elections are April 7th and 8th. Thanks!
NHS Office positions
Attention current junior NHS members: if you are interested in running for an NHS office position, there will be a mandatory informational meeting after school, Wednesday, March 30, in Mrs. Self's room (2209)

Have you seen Chester or Chloe? We are having a last call to find our missing Wildcats. If you're interested in being next year's mascot, stop by room T005 or 1308 to pick up an information packet. Tryouts packets are due April 1st.
Scholarship News
SCHOLARSHIPS
•Texas Hospitality Association will award a combined total of $10,000 in scholarships to four graduating high school seniors who submit the winning artwork for posters which will be used in the fight against underage drinking. The deadline to submit your design is May 4th. See Mrs. Graves for contest rules and guidelines.
•Seniors, if you received a scholarship application from Millsap Elementary, the deadline to turn it in is next week. Do not forget to request your “Official High School Transcript”!
•The Career & Technology Scholarship is open to a graduating high school senior who has completed at least (3) credits in two or more CTE courses and is currently enrolled in a CTE course Spring Semester. •Attention Juniors, the deadline to apply for the “Free” summer camps at Texas Tech and The University of Texas at Arlington, is next week. Take advantage of this opportunity to spend time away from family and experience what it’s really like living on a college campus.

Have any spare hygeinic products, books, toys, or clothes? Drop them off in your English teacher's box for a less-fortunate orphanage in Uganda! Anything will help, so please remember to bring clothes, toys, or hygeine products to school in the on-coming week!

Scholarships
•The Healthcare Administration & Management Scholarship is open to seniors who are planning to major in healthcare management or other related fields of study. The award is $1,500 and the deadline to apply is May 15th.
•The 2016 Don’t Mess with Texas Scholarship Contest will award up to $8,000 in scholarships to graduating high school senior who has taken a leadership role in preventing litter in your school or community. The deadline to apply for this award is March 26th.
•Texas Big Game Awards is open to Ag students in grades 10-12. Up to $3,000 will be awarded to qualified applicant. Application deadline is March 31st.
•The Alphonso Deal Scholarship Award is open to graduating seniors who are planning to study Criminal Justice or other related fields. The award amount varies and the deadline to apply is May 20th.
•The Asian Pacific American Heritage Association has multiple scholarship opportunities available for graduating high school seniors who are Asian American or Pacific Island descent. Emphasis is placed on academic and leadership. The deadline to submit your application is March 29th.
