There are 10 different scholarships from the Rodeo ! Currently, more than 2,000 students are on Show scholarships, attending more than 10 different Texas colleges and universities. The value of these scholarships is approximately $30 million ! See Ms. Smith for details in the registrar office.

MILITARY ACADEMY NIGHT

Tuesday, November 19th from 7-9 PM at the Berry Center. Middle School and High School students and parents are welcome to attend. Soccer Announcement

Soccer tryouts will be Monday December 2nd right after school on the practice fields behind the tennis courts. To tryout you will need a physical on file with the trainers please see Coach Anderson about physicals. Any questions about soccer tryouts see Coach Day. Tomorrow after school the soccer fileds will be open for any boys interested in playing soccer, no physical required.

Another new scholarship is the SportQuest Scholarship, for sophomores,juniors and seniors. Seniors applying to A&M and UT

ATTENTION SENIORS PLANNING TO APPLY TO GO TO A&M or UT --- Transcripts cannot be sent electronically to Texas A&M or UT Austin. If you plan on applying to A&M or UT you will need to order your official transcript no later than Monday, November 18th. Transcripts can be ordered in the Registrar’s office before and after school and during lunch.

SOCCER TRYOUTS

Soccer tryouts are coming up on Dec 2nd Monday when we get back from Thanksgiving break please make sure you have a physical on file with the trainers to tryout. Any boys interested in playing soccer tomorrow Coach Day will have open field on the practice field all are welcome to come play no physical required tomorrow. Any questions talk with Coach Day.

Cy-Fair Credit Union Scholarship & more

The Cy Fair Federal Credit Union Scholarship is here. You DO NOT have to be a member of the union. This scholarship is for ANY graduating senior who will be attending college in the fall. The Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo Scholarship are NOW AVAILABLE ! Saturday December 7th, UT Dallas is hosting an event to help high school juniors and seniors and their parents in the college selection process. Some topics include...the application process, choosing a major, and much more. See Ms. Smith in the Registrar office for complete details on all the above.

Pictures that will be in the WRAP Stars Calendar will be there to look at.  Goofy and fun pictures that were taken that day will be on sale during the meeting only!

No Shave November

20 teachers and 1 administrator at Cy Woods are growing beards/not shaving legs as they participate in No Shave November to raise awareness and donations for cancer research at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. Each teacher will also have students in their classes participating as well.

 

The rules for No Shave November are as follows:

1. Clean shaven, no facial hair or legs on November 1st

2. No shaving/ trimming/ grooming for month of November

3. Raise donations for beard growth/ hairy legs however the teacher/students decide

 

All donations will go towards cancer research at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center

Boys basketball tryouts will be held on Friday, November 8th from 2:45p-4:45p, in the Performance Gym.  Anyone interested in trying out must have an athletic physical on file in the athletic trainers office- no exceptions.
