Alternate Bell Schedule/EOC Testing

Due to EOC testing, we will be on an alternate bell schedule May 2nd, 3rd, and 4th. Early release times and lunch times are impacted. Check the school website for details.

Hollywood @ the Woods Talent Showcase

Do you have talent? Singing, dancing, acting or whatever talent you may have and want to showcase, come and audition....Everyone is welcomed! Open auditions for "Hollywood @ the Woods" talent showcase are next Monday, May 2nd in RM 1173, Mrs. Salinas' room. Auditions are from 2:45-4:00.

Cy-Woods Physicals

Cy Woods Physicals Saturday April 30th 1pm-3pm $20 Cash Only In the Performance Gym All grade levels and any club/organizations are welcomed. All CFISD athletic forms must be turned in prior to the physical. For any questions, stop by the athletic training room.

ACT Test/Rescheduled

The ACT scheduled for April 19th has been rescheduled to May 17th. We will be on an alternate bell schedule that day to accommodate ACT Testing.

Late Arrival-early Release

Late Arrival-Early Release forms are available in the Counselors' office. Students who qualify should have a completed form turned in by May 20th. Please see the Counselors' office for more information.

Summer School Registration

Summer School Registration has begun. Registration for original credit summer school courses ends May 16th. Please see the Counselors' office for more information.

Wild Cat Choir Events

Come and support the Wildcat choir for 2 events! Monday-May 2nd-Rico's Mexican Restaurant on Skinner Road. Please come support the Wildcat choir and 20% will be given back to the Cy Woods Choir program. This event lasts the whole day so you can choose when to come eat. Saturday - May 7- Car Wash @ Bahama Buck's on Telge/Huffmeister from 8 AM to 1 PM. Please come support the Wildcat Choir!

Tennis Tryouts

Tryouts for the Tennis team will be Thursday, May 19, from 2:45-3:45 at the Cy-Woods tennis courts. You must have a physical on file to tryout. Looking forward to seeing you all at the courts.

PowderPuff

The Powderpuff game will be held this Friday, from 4-6pm. Wristbands may be purchased for $3.00, or 2 fro $5.00. Bring a friend and save a dolalr! PowderPuff t-shirts are also on sale for $15.00 in the AP office. Suppies are limited! Get yours today!

H.E.A.T.

H.E.A.T. will be hosting a volleyball tournament, Saturday, May 15th, at the Coles Crossing Rec Center. The tournament will raise money for a primate sanctuary in San Antonio. If you plan to be the team captain for your team, please attend the H,.E.A.T. meeting next Thursday, in the teaching theatre after school with names of your team.

Scholarship News

Scholarships •Seniors, are you attending Lone Star College in the fall? The Cy-Fair Education Foundation is offering a $1,500 scholarship to graduating seniors of C.F.I.S.D. Award can be used at any LSC campus. The deadline to submit your application and supporting documents is May 12th. •The Horatio Alger Technical Foundation will award (512) $2,500 scholarships to graduating high school seniors who are planning to study computer science or other related field. The deadline to apply is June 1st. •The Chevron Corporation Scholarship is available to graduating seniors who plan to major in STEM. The deadline to apply for this $5,000 scholarship is Monday, May 2nd. •The Get Girls Golfing scholarship is open to female high school seniors who plays golf competitively now, and who will also play their freshman year in college. The award is $1,500 and your application deadline is May 15th.

The Azteca Scholarship deadline has been extended to next Friday. This scholarsip is available for students who are Chicano or Mexicano descent. The deadline to apply is Friday, May 6th. SCHOLARSHIPS! •The University of Arkansas will be here today during all lunches. Wildcats, this is your opportunity to get first-hand information about the college admissions process, test requirements, and how universities make their decisions about who gets admitted to their school. •Attention Senior Women. The BHW Group is offering a $3,000 scholarship to graduating senior females who are pursuing a degree in a STEM related field. The deadline to apply is Friday, April 15th. •Are you planning a career in Engineering? The Wire Reinforcement Institute will award up to $4,000 in scholarships to a graduating high school senior who is pursuing a degree in structural or civil engineering. •The Get Girls Golfing Scholarship is open to graduating high school females who plays golf competitively in high school and who intends to play golf as a freshman at a 2 or 4 year college. •Attention Senior’s. Are you a Natural Redhead? Then, you should check out the $500 scholarship created by ScholarshipRed with you in mind. •The Italian Cultural & Community Center of Houston is offering a $1,000 scholarship to a graduating senior who is of Italian descent. The deadline to apply is April 15th. •The Herbert Lehman Education Fund scholarship is available to graduating high school seniors. The emphasis is academics, leadership and community service. The deadline to apply for this $8,000 scholarship is April 25th. •The AZETCA Scholarship Foundation is offering several scholarships to graduating high school seniors who are Chicano, Mexicano or, Raza descent. The deadline to apply is April 26th. •The Mary Hill Davis/Ethnic Minority Scholarship recognizes Baptist students from ethnic/minority backgrounds who will be attending a Texas Baptist university. The deadline to apply is Friday, April 8th. •Attention Future Educators! The Delta Kappa Gamma Zeta Nu scholarship is for senior females who plan to pursue a degree in education. A brief essay on “Why do you want to be an educator?” is required. The deadline to apply for this $1,000 award is Monday, April 11th. •Seniors! Please remember to keep track of ALL scholarships that you have been awarded.
