Penn State will be visiting Cy-Woods today during lunches.  Penn State’s athletic teams have won 83 national championships – the fourth most out of any college.  Stop by the informational table to learn about being a Nittany  Lion.

Vollyball Playoffs!

Volleyball plays their first playoff match tomorrow at Delmare Fieldhouse at 5:00 against Bellaire.  Be sure to come support these amazing young ladies! Playoff T-shirts will be on sale at the V.I.P.'s window during lunches or come see Coach Ahlfinger.  Shirts are $13.00

Theatre Announcements

Want a way to give back to your community this up coming holiday season? Trick or Treat so kids can eat is an easy way to do just that! There are boxes in your English class rooms with flyers indicating what kind of foods are needed. Place the food in those boxes or drop it off at the auditorium by October 30th to give to Cypress Assistance ministries for children and families in need.

Come and see Cy Woods theatre department's production of Antigone on November 3, 4, and 6th at 6:30pm! The show  will take place behind the school, outside in the courtyard with parking by the tennis courts. Tickets are $10.

HOSA Blood Drive

The HOSA blood drive will be held on Monday, November 6th.  If you are 17 or older,  you are eligible to sign up to donate blood. Buddy Holly Is Back!

Buddy Holly is back! For only 2 special performances on November 10th, and 11th, at 7 pm!  If you didn't get a chance to see Buddy and the Crickets last time around, or if you wanna rock and roll with us again, you don't wanna miss this!  Tickets are $10 at the door or can be purchased  on.line.

212 Java Coffee Company

Culinary Arts is excited to announce the opening of CyWoods 212 Java Coffee Company this Friday, October 27th, from 6:40a.m. to 1:00p.m.  We will be selling Smoothies, WildCaticino's (frappe's), Hot Chocolate, and assorted treats!  Bring your money!

"Your future is the key, so be drug free!"  Did you know?  Deaths from medication abuse now outnumber deaths from traffic accidents for young adults in the United States.

Remember to fight against drugs. Tomorrow wear our BFDT shirt or Camo to show that you join us in our pledge to be drug and alcohol free.

HEAT Club's News

HEAT Club will be hosting a costume contest in the dog park at Towne Lake on October 27th from 5pm to 7pm.  Dress up your pups and doggos in their cutest outfits and come out! Prizes will be given to the BEST DRESSED pups! $2. entry fee.

Scholarship News

CFISD is hosting Career Options Fair tomorrow night from 5:30 – 7:30 at the Berry Center.   This event will showcase career and technical schools offering degrees and certifications that will prepare you for the workforce.  All grades are welcome.     

Northwestern University will be visiting Cy Woods on Friday.  Northwestern, a private university, has about 8,000 students and is located just north of Chicago, Illinois. 


Senior ladies who have been involved in community service and have given back to the community are eligible for a $1,000.00 scholarship from the Cypress-Woodlands Junior Forum.  Applications are in the College and Career Office located inside the counselors’ office. 


Senior students intending to earn a degree in performing arts are eligible to apply for a $1,000.00 scholarship.  Applications and more details can be found in the College and Career Office.


UIL Math Team

Are you interested in competing in math contests? If so, please join us in our UIL Math Team on Wednesday mornings at 6:45 in Room 1562. On Wed. Nov. 1, we will have our first virtual invitational meet in Room 1562 at 6:30am.

Did you know?  Teens that started drinking before the age of 15 are five times more likely to become addicted to alcohol later on, unlike those who waited until after they were 21.

Next week begins Red Ribbon Week. Remember, your future is bright! Monday dress in neon or wear a college shirt to show that you join us in our pledge to be drug and alcohol free.

Resolved:  The United States should require universal background checks for all gun sales and transfers of ownership. Think you have what it takes to debate this resolution? The Cypress-Woods Junior Forum is offering Cypress Woods Seniors two scholarship opportunities. One scholarship is for graduating senior women. The $1,000.00 scholarship is given to a senior young woman who has made an effort during her high school career to volunteer her time and talents
to the community. The second scholarship is for a graduating senior (male or female) who intends to pursue a college degree in one of the performing arts.
See Mrs. England in the counseling office.

UT Dallas is offering a Scholar's Day Event on November 11 for African-American students in 11th and 12th grade who are in the top 10% of their class. See Mrs. England in the counseling office for more information. The deadline to register is October 31.

Crimson Cadettes News

In recognition of breast cancer awareness month, members of the Crimson Cadettes are participating in an act they like to call "Pass the Boot".  They will be taking your gracious donations, 100% of which will go to Friends thru the Fight", a local nonprofit organization dedicated to financially and emotionally supporting women fighting breast cancer and their families. The Cadettes would like to thank you in advance for your generous support.  The Cadettes appreciate anything you can give so they can give help to those who have inspired them to live with courage, vigor, and passion.

Scholarship News

Marquette University will have a representative on campus today during all lunches. Marquette University is a Catholic institution located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and is known for their Physical Therapy program, engineering programs, nursing, and business programs.
