Voting

Are you 18 or will you have your 18th birthday on/before March 29th?  Then you need to register to vote!!  It's a big election year and you need to have your voice heard on who you want to be our President, Congress members, judges and others.  The League of Women Voters will be here on Wednesday to do just that.  They will be visiting all Government and Economics classes, but if you don't have one of those classes, you can register by seeing Ms. Fritz in the front office or Ms. Stephanow in room 2111.  Staff can register too!  If you need to register for the first time in Harris County or you have changed your address or name, see Ms. Fritz or Ms. Stephanow.

Food Drive

Students of Hope is having a food drive on January 28 to February 18.  They are helping out Magnificat House who is located Downtown Houston and help fee the homeless people in the Houston area.  They need canned beans, pudding, spam, canned soups and canned tuna.  The boxes will be located in the library and in front of the cafeteria.

College Visit

Wildcats, a representative from Schreiner University will be at all lunches this Wednesday.  Schreiner is a private university located in Kerrville, TX.  If you are looking for a smaller, in-state university, be sure to visit the table tomorrow.

Wrestling

The Wildcat Wrestlers competed this weekend at the Cy Ridge invite.  The boys team placed 2nd and the girls team placed 3rd.

Choir

Saturday was the annual UIL Solo and Ensemble Competition for Choir.  Cy Woods had 74 students participate in the event and brought home 21 Excellent Ratings and 79 Superior Ratings & Medals.  As always, the Wildcat Choir members brought their 212 effort and represented Cy Woods with excellence and class!

Crimson Cadettes

This pas Saturday the Crimson Cadettes competed in their first dance competition of the year at Cy Falls HS.  The Cadettes won every category they entered, including 1st place for all 4 line officer dances, 1st place for all 4 team dances and 1st place for their social officer routine.

The Cadettes won the 3 highest scoring routines of the whole competition and then were named the Overall Grand Champion Officer line and the Overall Grand Champion Team.  Congrats to the Cadettes for sweeping their first team competition of the year.

Golf

The girls golf team placed 3rd at the girls golf tournament at Jersey Meadow.  We had one girl who was the 2nd place medalist.  Way to go girls, we are so proud of you!!

Big big shout out to boys golf!  Tournament #2 took place yesterday.  We've got some work to do, but 212 golf.

The Lady Wildcat varsity soccer team smacked Langham Creek last night 7 to 1 to earn their first win of the district season.  These cats have a huge game Friday against rivals Bridgeland - good luck soccer!!!

The Mr. Cy Woods pageant is February 13 at 6:30 pm in the Auditorium.  Applications for Senior Contestants and Escorts can be turned in to the AP office or the Mr. Cy Woods volunteer table during lunches.  They are due Tomorrow!!

Ladies Soccer

Your Lady Wildcat varsity soccer team opened up district play against a tough Tomball Memorial team.  After being down two goals at halftime, these ladies clawed their way back to tie the game up with only one minute remaining.  Girls soccer is at home tonight against Langham Creek.  See you at 5:30 for JV and 7:30 for varisty.

JV men's soccer went undefeated in the weekend's CFISD showcase.  Highlights included a 5-3 beatdown on Aldine.  The Wildcats took a strong Jersey Village side OUT with more goals.

Ladies Soccer

Over the weekend your Lady Wildcat Varsity soccer team competed in the state's largest and most competitive tournament.  After competing in the highest of 8 brackets they ended play with a 3rd place finish behind two nationally ranked teams.

Cheerleader & Mascot Candidates

If you are interested in trying out for cheer or mascot, your parent MUST attend the parent meeting next week on January 15 at 6:30 pm.  All parents must attend.

Pass/Fail - Updated

Attention junior and senior Wildcats: If you would like to take a 2nd semester class as Pass/Fail, applications are now available in the Counselor's office.  The deadline to register is January 22, 2020.

Seniors

Seniors, the Cy-Fair Educational Foundation Scholarship portal is now open.  Visit www.thecfef.org to access the online application.  Applications are due January 28 and supporting documents must be given to Mrs. England no later than February 1.

Senior ladies, don't forget the Cypress Woodlands Junior Forum Scholarship application is due to Mrs. England this Friday, January 10.

No Place for Hate Week

Please join our campus as we host No Place for Hate Dress Up Week.  It will be next week, starting Monday, January 13th through Friday, January 17th.

Kickball

Cy Woods Charity Kickball Tournament will be held on Saturday, February 29th.  The tournament will consist of 32 teams and there will be a competitive and recreational bracket.  Team packets will be available in the AP's office beginning Monday, January 13th.  All teams must have a Wildcat Staff Member sponsor.

All library books are due today.  Please renew your books if you need more time.

Softball

Softball tryouts will be held January 24th from 3:00-8:00 and January 25th from 9:00-2:00 for all girls interested in playing softball.  You must pick up a packet from the trainers and have a physical and all paperwork turned in before tryouts.  There is a signup sheet on the door of room 3006, 2705 and 2006.  Any questions see Coach Bond, Coach Wilson or Coach Vance.

Girls Soccer

Over the holiday break, your Lady Wildcat soccer team was hard at work knocking off Regionally ranked opponents such as Kingwood, Kingwood Park and Atascocita.  The Wildcats are back in action this weekend in the I10 tournament where they will look to demolish nationally ranked opponents such as Katy Tompkins.  GOOD LUCK SOCCER!!!

Boys Soccer

The Cy Woods Boys Soccer team had a great start to the season over the weekend at the CFISD Showcase.  They walked away from the tournament with a record of 3 wins and 1 tie, against some tough competition.  Up next, another away match at Stratford High School on Tuesday, January 7th at 7:30 pm.  Come out and support the team.
