Varsity Boy's Soccer

Last night, the Wildcat Boy's Soccer team faced the current district leader Cy Lakes.  The Wildcats scored in the first 5 minutes to take an early lead.  Unfortunately, the Spartans quickly countered to go up 2-1 where the game ultimately finished.  Our Wildcats fought for 80 minutes, giving a 212 effort to make our school proud.  The boys played with passion and heart in front of Cy Lakes fan base.  Our most valuable player was missing, Wildcat Nation.  That's right, I'm calling out the Cy Woods fan base for its weak support of a great soccer program.  It is embarrassing and disappointing to feel like an away team on your own field.  I expect rowdy fans next Tuesday as we face Cy Springs.  Please come out and support!!

JV Boy's Soccer

Last night JV Boys Soccer pounced on Cy Lakes 3-1.  The boys played hard from start to finish and never let Lakes in the game.  Great game boys; keep it up Friday night at Cy Park!

Girl's Soccer

Your Lady Wildcat JV Soccer team beat the Spartans last night 6-0.  Come out Friday night as we show our appreciation for our teachers and take on Cy Park.

Neither the bitter cold or the Cy Lakes Spartans were enough to hold off that 212 heat your girls Varsity Soccer team brought last night in their 10 goal win.  Defense got another shutout allowing only one shot on goal.  These ladies will look to tame the Tigers at home on Friday for our teacher appreciation game.  We'd love for all our fantastic teachers to attend - this ones for you!

Cheer Tryouts

Breaking News!!  It is that time of year again!!  Cheer tryouts are March 7th!  If you are interested in trying out for a cheerleader or mascot position, you must attend a brief meeting next Tuesday from 2:40-3:20.  Write this down, the meeting will be in Rm 1846.  Rm 1846 is at the end of the band hallway.  See you next Tuesday!  Go Wildcats!!

Souper Bowl of Caring

Hey Wildcats!  The super bowl is fast approaching, which means it is time for the SOUPer bowl of caring.  The SOUPer bowl takes all the hype surrounding the big football game to bring to light the needs of our community.  More than 630,000 people in the U.S. are homeless and 1 in 7 Americans face hunger every day.  Let's do what we can to help!  This week, student council will be taking donations through various clubs and organizations her at Cy Woods.  The organization that donates the most items compared to their member size will win a treat from StuCo!  For those who want to donate independent from a club, there will be a box in the hallway.  All donated items will be given to Cypress Assistance Ministries.  Regardless of what team we root for, let's come together to help the community!

National Blood Donor Awareness Month

January is National Blood Donor Awareness Month.  This month is dedicated to celebrating those who have donated blood and raising awareness for others.  One pint of blood can save 3 lives.  In honor of this month, Student Council will be handing out red ribbons for you to pin on and wear tomorrow.  Help Student Council in showing support for Blood Donor Awareness!

Choir

Saturday, Cy Woods Choir students competed in Solo and Ensemble Competition at Stratford HS.  The Wildcats entered 47 solos and 8 ensembles.  Our soloists received 8 excellent ratings and 38 superior ratings and our ensembles received 4 excellent and 4 superior ratings.  This is such a powerful showing from our Wildcat Singers.  We are so proud of their hard work!

Girl's Soccer

Your Lady Wildcats JV soccer team beat Bridgeland last Friday 2-1.  A fantastic defensive stand by the entire team.  Come out and support your Wildcats as we take on Cy Lakes tomorrow night.

Friday night the Bridgeland Bears were sent back into hibernation by your Lady Wildcat varsity soccer team.  The final score was 3-0.  Stellar defense from our back line allowed only one shot and it was kept a shutout.  The Wildcats look to continue their district unbeaten streak as they face Lakes on Tuesday and Park on Friday at home.  Come out and support these Wildcats!

Swim and Dive

The Cy Woods Swim and Dive competed in the Varsity Swim and Dive Districts over the weekend.  Both the girls and boys team were crowned district champions.  This is the 3rd straight district championship for both teams.  The team qualified 21 swimmers and 1 diver for regions this week.  Region diving will be held on Thursday and swimming on Friday and Saturday.  The team will look to qualify athletes for the state meet in Austin in 2 weeks.  Great job swimmers and divers, your coaches are proud of you and we are looking forward to the region meet.

Your Lady Wildcat Varsity soccer team advanced to the finals in the top bracket of the Katy Shootout this weekend after taking down St. Agnes on Friday and then knocked off one of San Antonio's top ranked teams - Churchill - to bring home the championship Saturday.  This entire team played some beautiful soccer this weekend and look to continue their world domination against Tomball Memorial this Friday in their first official district game.  Come out and support these Wildcats as they look to defend their 2018 District Title.

Boys Soccer

Boys Varsity Soccer made the Wildcat Nation proud this weekend in the Klein Showcase Tournament, sweeping the competition for a 3-0 record.  They defeated Westfield 2-0, Statford 3-2 and Klein Cain 1-0.

The Wildcat Junior Varsity played in the CFISD tournament and turned in some great performances as well, the highlight being a 3-0 win over Galena Park, and a hard fought 1-1 match against a physical MacArthur team.

The boys start district play this Friday night at Tomball Memorial.  The home opener is next Tuesday night against Langham Creek, so please come out and support Wildcat Soccer!
