Pearl Harbor Remembered

Today marks the 78th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor. It was on this day, December 7th in 1941, that the Japanese Navy began bombing Pearl Harbor at 7:55 am, resulting in the deaths of 2,403 military personnel, 68 civilians, and wounding 1,178. In addition, 19 US Navy ships were destroyed, including eight battleships. On December 8th, 1941, President Franklin Deleanor Roosevelt and the 77th Congress of the United States declared war on the Axis Powers.

Boy's Golf

If you are interested in trying out for the boy's golf team you need to contact Coach Neill by December 21st about tryout information.  You will need to have the athletic physical and packet on file with the athletic trainers in order to tryout.  Tryouts will be held on January 4th and 5th at Cypress Lakes golf course.

Volleyball

Cy Woods Volleyball continues in success and rewards for their hard work and achievements.

Congratulations to the Air Force JROTC Physical Training Team for their 2nd place finish at the Cy-Fair Drill Meet!!

Choir

Saturday, Region Choir Auditions took place virtually for the first time ever.  Cy Woods Choir Program earned 22 places in the Region Choir!  As well, 2 students were selected to advance to the Area Auditions in January with one student placing as an alternate to Area.

We are so proud of all of our singers for their hard work and dedication to the art of singing!

Congratulations to the Varsity Hockey team on their 4-3 win over Fair Creek.

On Sunday, our wildcats tied with the San Antonio Jr. Rampage 2-2.

Baseball

Baseball try-outs will be held January 22nd and January 23rd at Cy Woods Baseball Field.  You must pick up a tryout form from Coach Pridgeon in room 2411.  Forms must be completed and turned in by January 21st to Coach Pridgeon in room 2411 if you want to participate.

Boy's Golf

Softball

Softball tryouts will be held January 15th from 3:00 pm - 8:00 pm and January 16th from 9:00 am - 2:00 pm for all girls interested in playing softball.  You must pick up a packet from the trainers and have a physical and all paperwork turned in and cleared before tryouts.  There is a sign up sheet on the door of room 3006, 2705 and 2006.  Any questions see Coach Bond, Coach Wilson or Coach Vance.

Computer Science

On Saturday, November 14th, Richardson High School hosted a virtual Computer Science programming contest.

There were over 125 teams from schools from all across the United States.

The results are as follows:

Advanced Division - 11th place - Team Beebeebooboo

212 to the Cy Woods Computer Science team.

For any girls interested in trying out for soccer or being a soccer manager, tryouts are the Monday and Tuesday after Thanksgiving break.  Be at the fields behind the tennis courts immediately after school!!
