No Place for Hate

The United Nations General Assembly designated January 27, the anniversary of the liberation of the last Concentration Camp Auschwitz, as International Holocaust Remembrance Day. 

On this annual day of commemoration, the UN urges every member to honor the six million Jewish victims of the Holocaust and millions of other victims of Nazism and to develop educational programs to help prevent future genocides.

Boys Soccer

Last night under the lights at Cy Falls, the JV Boys Soccer team opened up district play with a solid 3-0 victory over the Eagles.

The boys play against Bridgeland at home Friday at 5:45 pm so come out and support Wildcat Soccer!

Ladies Soccer

Your lady Wildcat JV soccer team opened up district play with a 6-0 win against Cy Falls.  Come support your Lady Wildcats Friday as we look to beat those bothersome Bridgeland bears.

Your lady Wildcat varsity soccer team kicked off district play last night with a dominating 8-0 win over Cy Falls.  Way to go Cats!  These ladies are back in action against district rivals Bridgeland this Friday!

Hockey

Congratulations to our Varsity Hockey team on their 5 to 1 win against Fair Creek over the weekend. The Wildcats take on Tomball Friday and Memorial West on Sunday. Get out there and hurt somebody!

Wrestling

The Wrestling season is starting a bit late this year, but we will begin our competitions on March 2nd.  It is NOT too late to join the team and learn how to wrestle.  No experience required.  We still have varsity weight classes open so if you want to earn a letter jacket, come join us.  We are also looking for full time managers as well.

Come practice in the 3rd gym after school on Monday, Tuesday or Thursday to see what it is all about.

CyFair Educational Foundation scholarship

Seniors, the CyFair Educational Foundation scholarship application is open through this Thursday, January 28.  The application is online at cfef.org.

You must request transcripts and give a copy of your parents' 2019 tax return to Mrs. England by February 2.

If you have any questions, you can contact Mrs. England in the counseling office.

Choir Solo and Ensemble

This past Saturday, singers from Cy Woods Choir participated in Solo and Ensemble. Cy Woods had 41 solo performances which received 1 excellent rating and 40 superior ratings.  We also had 10 ensembles perform and received 2 excellent ratings and 8 superior ratings.  The Wildcat singers really showed up and showed off this weekend.

No Place for Hate

Wednesday we wore Red, White and Blue to show Unity.  It is not about if you are Left or Right!  It is about working together to move forward!  Our respect for each other's differences and perspectives as we live life in pursuit of liberty and happiness is what makes our country great!

This is No Place for Hate Week at Woods!  Today we are wearing Mix Matched Shoes to represent Empathy.  This is the ability to step in the shoes of another person, aiming to understand their feelings and perspective and to use that understanding to guide our actions.  That is 212!

No Place for Hate

Next week on January 19-22, we will host our 3rd annual No Place for Hate Week.  This will take place on the same week as the MLK Holiday.

Tuesday we will wear Mix Matched shoes so we can "Walk a Mile in Someone Else's Shoes"

Wednesday we will wear Red, White and Blue because we are the "United States" not the "Divided States"

Thursday will be "Multicultural Day" so represent your Country of origin

Friday we will wear Black and Yellow to "Bee" above hate

Hockey

The Varsity Hockey team had a good game, but lost 3-2 against Ridgepoint on Sunday.

The Wildcats will battle both Tomball and Memorial West this weekend.  Keep your heads up Wildcats!

Softball

Softball tryouts will be held January 15th from 3:00 pm - 8:00 pm and January 16th from 9:00 am - 2:00 pm for all girls interested in playing softball.  You must pick up a packet from the trainers and have a physical and all paperwork turned in and cleared before tryouts.  There is a sign up sheet on the door of room 3006, 2705 and 2006.  Any questions see Coach Bond, Coach Wilson or Coach Vance.
