Go Wildcats 212
Did you know:
Each year, an estimated 5000 people under the age of 21 die from injuries caused by underage drinking.
Teens who start drinking before age 15 are five times more likely to develop alcohol dependence or abuse later in life than those who begin drinking at or after the legal age of 21.
Teen tobacco, alcohol and marijuana users are at least twice as likely as nonusers to have poor grades. Even more alarming: Teen marijuana users are about twice as likely as non-users to drop out of high school.
Today wraps up our Red Ribbon Week; thank you to all who participated. We know Wildcats will continue to rise about the influence.
Don't forget that the Wildcat Mental Health Alliance will have its first meeting TODAY after school.
There will be an in-person meeting for the first 25 students that sign up from 3-4:10 pm. There will also be a virtual zoom meeting from 3:25-4:25 pm also on Wednesday.

Did you know that, according to the National Alliance on Mental Illness, that 1 out of 5 high school students deal with a mental health issue each year, but only 1 out of every 10 of these students get the help they need? At Cy Woods, the Wildcat Mental Health Alliance wants to help end the stigma surrounding mental health. The WMHA is a student lead club that advocates for and promotes mental health awareness on our campus.
The first meetings will take place this Wednesday after school and the guest speaker will be our very own Cy Woods principal Mr. Kinninger. There will be an in-person meeting for the first 25 students that sign up from 3-4:10 pm. There will also be a virtual zoom meeting from 3:25-4:25 pm also on Wednesday. Congratulations to the Wildcat Varsity hockey team on their 5-4 win against Klein. Great game y'all!
Keep up the good work!
Red Ribbon Week is the oldest and largest drug prevention campaign in the country. This year Red Ribbon Week begins today.
Did you know: Those that use drugs often don't see the damage they cause to those around them. The addiction becomes more prominent and the user starts to break away from any and all relationships they once found important.
Thank you for teaming up against drugs today.
Tomorrow join us as we dress in space gear to show that we agree to ALIENate drugs.
