The Cypress-Woods Junior Forum is offering Cypress Woods Seniors two scholarship opportunities. One scholarship is for graduating senior women. The $1,000.00 scholarship is given to a senior young woman who has made an effort during her high school career to volunteer her time and talents
to the community. The second scholarship is for a graduating senior (male or female) who intends to pursue a college degree in one of the performing arts.

UT Dallas is offering a Scholar's Day Event on November 11 for African-American students in 11th and 12th grade who are in the top 10% of their class. See Mrs. England in the counseling office for more information. The deadline to register is October 31.

Crimson Cadettes News

In recognition of breast cancer awareness month, members of the Crimson Cadettes are participating in an act they like to call "Pass the Boot".  They will be taking your gracious donations, 100% of which will go to Friends thru the Fight", a local nonprofit organization dedicated to financially and emotionally supporting women fighting breast cancer and their families. The Cadettes would like to thank you in advance for your generous support.  The Cadettes appreciate anything you can give so they can give help to those who have inspired them to live with courage, vigor, and passion.

A representative from Baylor University will be at Cypress Woods during all three lunches on Tuesday, September 26. Be sure to stop by the informational table in the main hallway and learn more about what Baylor has to offer. Cypress Woods will host a Fall College Fair on Monday, September 25, during all lunches. Representatives from colleges, universities, and branches of the military will have tables set up for you to stop by, take information packets, and meet with college admission officers and recruiters. All grades levels should embrace this opportunity to learn about your options for Life after the Woods! For current Cypress Woods seniors: You and your family are invited to attend "Applying to College", a presentation covering the college application process. The presentation will take place on Tuesday, September 26, from 6 PM until 7 PM in the auditorium.

Wildcats! Reminder that you MUST make up the hours to restore credit lost due to excessive absences! Seniors! You may be in danger of not participating in graduation!! Juniors! You may lose EARLY RELEASE AND LATE ARRIVAL on your schedule! In addition, VOE forms will NOT be issued to students who have not recovered EA's! Exemption Card Distribution & Due Dates

Exemption Card Distribution & Due Dates for 9-12th grade, will be Monday & Tuesday, May 15 & 16th, during all lunches. Senior Exemption Cards to be turned in to the AP's office by the end of the school day on Wednesday, May 17. Grades 9-11 Exemption Cards, to be turned in to the AP's office by the end of the school day on Friday May 19th. Teachers will sign these cards on Tuesday, May 16. The only absences that DO NOT count against exemptions are College days for Juniors and Seniors (2-day maximum), and school sponsored field trips.

AP Psychology Exam

Attention all Junior and Seniors taking the AP Psychology EXAM on Monday May 1st. On Monday after third period, ALL testers will report to A Lunch. At the conclusion of A Lunch, you will then report to the main gym where you will be hanging out on the bleachers until 11:30am when you will be led to the testing area. The AP psychology test will conclude between 2:30 and 3:00pm that afternoon. Today after school, Mr. Porter will be holding another practice test session for FALL AP Psychology students to help you better identify what you need to study over the weekend. Good Luck!

Three $1500 scholarships are available. The award can be used at any LSC campus. Deadline to apply is Friday, May 12th. Stop by the scholarship office or check the hall bulletin for details! Exploring college options will be in the Houston area, May 15th, & 16th, for information sessions. Please visit www.exploringcollegeoptions.org for locations and times. Hollywood at the Woods

Hollywood at the Woods talent showcase is tonight at 6:30pm in the auditorium. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased during all lunches. Tickets can also be purchased at the door. Proceeds from the show are donated to Texas Children's Hospital. Come out to see Hollywood at the Woods and show your support for our Wildcat stars!!

Caps & Gowns Pickup 4/27/2017

Balfour will be on campus Thursday, April 27th, starting at 7AM in the commons area to distribute caps and gowns to Senior Wildcats who have purchased them through Balfour. Students who have not purchased a cap and gown will have the opportunity to purchase cap/gowns on Thursday April 27th. Caps and gowns may also be purchased online at www.balfourgrad.com. The price of the cap and gown is $60. Caps and gowns will be worn for the panoramic photo Thursday April 27th and Senior Wildcats will be able to wear their cap and gown throughout the remainder of the school day if they choose to as a tribute to their hard work and success.

Attention Seniors! Balfour will be on campus Thursday, April 27th, starting at 7AM in the commons area to distribute caps and gowns to Senior Wildcats who have purchased them through Balfour. Theatre Company's Night for Nationals

Come out and support Cypress Woods Theatre Company in a special fundraising performance of Night for Nationals. The students participating in this event qualified in a theatrical event at Texas Thespian Festival & Competition and will be competing at the National Thespian Festival & Competition this summer in Lincoln, Nebraska. The lobby will have displays of all the technical theatrical designs that students qualified to Nationals with and the performance will consist of all the theatrical performances that students qualified to nationals with plus some extra surprise acts. All money from ticket sales and concessions will go to assist students with transportation costs. Night For Nationals is Saturday, April 22nd in the auditorium with a matinee performance at 2 PM and an evening performance at 7PM. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students. Tickets will be available at the door and are already available online at www.showtix4u.com. See you there!
