Wildcat Water Warriors News
Did you know that most of the precious metals in your phones now comes from endangered gorilla and chimpanzee habitat? At Lunch, Wildcat water Warriors are collecting unusable and unwanted hand held electronics and accessories for recycle. Everything collected will be brought to the Houston Zoo in support of their action for Apes initiative. Bring in a phone, Save a Gorilla!
Wildcat Water Warriors will take part in a tree planting competition on Saturday, February 11 in Missouri City, Texas. Anyone interested in helping plant trees should see Mr. Kraemer in Room 1214 to sign up.
Souper Bowl of Caring
Hey Wildcats! On Sunday, as estimated 140 million people, will tune in to watch the big game, while 50 million people in the U.S. are hungry. That's over 500 stadiums full of people who need our help. The Souper Bowl of Caring takes the positive energy surrounding the Super Bowl to organize ways people can help their communities. This week, Cy Woods, will be participating by collecting items such as dried beans, boxed cereals, jellies and more to give to CAM, helping families right here in cypress. Help these families by bringing non-perishable items to your favorite class! let's show Houston how much Cy Woods cares!
CAM has specifically expressed a need for:
boxed cereal, jelly/jam, chili/spaghetti o's/spaghetti sauce, rice, dried beans, canned meat, & toiletry items,
especially bar soap, shampoo, toothpaste, tooth brushes, and paper towels.

Scholarships
•Senior Wildcats, the Cy-Fair Education Foundation Scholarship and the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo scholarship applications are due, soon! Please remember that applications are NOT complete until all supporting documents have been turned in to Mrs. Graves.
•The Asian Pacific Islander scholarship is available to ANY graduating senior regardless of their ethnicity or cultural background. This organization is offering (21) $2,000 scholarships to qualified applicants.
•The Carr P. Collins Scholarship is open to students who will be attending Baylor University in the fall. The application deadline to apply for this $5,000 renewable scholarship is January 31st.
•The American Association of Blacks in Engineering will award up to $10,000 in scholarships to minority students who will major in energy related field. The deadline to apply is Feb. 1st.
•The Society of Professional Women in Engineering scholarship is open to senior girls who will attend a college or university in Texas. This award is open to ANY major. All senior girls are encouraged to apply.

•Attention Senior Wildcats, stop using those random internet search engines to look for scholarships! We’ve done the work for you! Our monthly scholarship bulletin lists scholarships previously to graduates of Cy-Fair ISD. Copies are available in the Registrar & Counseling offices.
•Seniors, don’t toss those scholarship offers! If you have received scholarship offers from colleges, we want to know about it. Regardless you plan to attend the university or not! Pick up the scholarship “Brag Form” which is available in the Registrar Office.
•Applications for the North Cypress Medical Center & the Cypress Fairbanks Medical Center summer volunteer programs are available in the Registrar Office. Space is limited. So, apply early!

Lady Wildcats' Basketball PINK OUT Night
Listen up Wildcats! This Friday night, the girls' basketball team would like to invite you to our PINK OUT night to promote awareness and raise money for the fight against breast cancer. All proceeds will benefit the Yolanda E. Williams Foundation -a foundation set up in the memory of our former Wildcat and now Fighting Texas Aggie, Jasmine Williams' mother. You can purchase pink flyers from a Lady Wildcat for $1.00 to be displayed in the gym foyer in honer or memory of someone who is battling or has battled breast cancer. Wear your loudest pink apparel and come out and support the Lady Wildcats.

•The Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo scholarship application is available. Log onto their website at www.HLSR.com to complete part-one of the application then, submit the supporting documents to Mrs. Graves by the due date. Over $2,000,000 is available for graduating senior from Houston area schools.
•Seniors, have you applied for the Cy-Fair Education Foundation Scholarship? This organization has more than $330,000 available in scholarships for graduates of Cy-Fair ISD. The online application is available at http://www.thecfef.org/apply-online/. Please remember that your application is not complete until all required documents are received.

Softball tryouts will be held January 20th at 3:00 and January 21st at 10:00am. Any girls interested in playing, need to have all physicals and paperwork turned into the trainers before tryouts. There will be sign up sheets on the door of Coach Bond's room, 3008 and Coach Wilson's room 2709.

Cheerleader/Mascot Tryouts
Are you ready to become a Wildcat cheerleader? Or maybe the Wildcat itself? Cheerleader and Mascot Tryout Packets can be picked up in room 2012 or room 1846, January 2-9. The Cheer clinic will be Feb. 21-23 from 2:45-4:30. Tryouts will be Feb. 24, starting at 2:45.
